Hidden gems – special offer

Hidden gems – special offer

A special offer has been prepared for all participants of ESOF2024 conference. It will enable them to discover Katowice: both its obvious highlights and seemingly inconspicuous places with unique atmosphere and character.

The trail leads to hidden gems, which must be included on the list of must-see spots during your stay in Katowice.

History and architecture

Thus, the trail includes historic institutions, like Monopol Hotel—the first, the oldest, and still the best hotel in Katowice, through the institutions carefully documenting the industrial part of Silesian history, such as museums and old historic mines, to typically cultural institutions, which are both an important element of the city’s architectural tissue and pride for its inhabitants.

Culture, entertainment and culinary tradition

Invitations and special offers will be prepared e.g. by the Silesian Museum, Silesian Philharmonic and Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. Silesian Park offers a ride on the longest low-lying cable car; from there it’s just one step to the highlights prepared by the Planetarium - Silesian Science Park and Silesian Zoo.

The guests from outside of the region will definitely make use of the Cafe Kattowitz culinary offer, full of rich and invaluable flavours of Silesian cuisine. This is a must-do on the trail.

Theatre and Atelier

The Silesian Puppet and Actor Theatre Ateneum will present its latest play called Polon i Rad [Polonium and Radium] specifically for the guests of ESOF 2024. The Silesian Theatre will show its backstage and more, whereas Grzegorz Chudy, water-colorist from Nikiszowiec, well-known across Silesia and beyond for his beboki, will wait for the visitors in his atelier.
