September 5, 2020 8:30 - 10:00
Location: ES Virtual Room
In this session clusters and ecosystems will present innovative ideas how to strengthen the links between science and business based on the experience COVID-19 crisis and the subsequent need for economic recovery. The recovery needs to embrace the green, digital and resilient transformation.
Clusters are the bridge-builders in and between the industrial ecosystem and clusters can act as catalysts as they bring together various actors, and have a particular reachout to SMEs. For greening and digitalisation a close collaboration with researchers facilitates the integration of approaches such as circular economy and sustainable technologies.
Resilience is a network property, not the property of an individual actor. The cluster approach is collective, working on holistic strategies for behavioural, social, economic, and environmental impacts.
Clusters have proved that they can react quickly. They are flexible to help reshaping value chains, detect problems in the ecosystems and identify solutions. The European Cluster Alliance (ECA) was established in 2019 with the purpose of creating a Europe-wide network with national cluster associations. The ECA represents 13 national cluster associations and 740 cluster organisations across Europe. It works with representatives from countries without national cluster networks (e.g. Germany, Italy), as well as universities, research centres and public institutions.
Discover how to join a co-creation process between clusters, companies, researchers, RTOs, and policy-makers.
