The panel will describe essential elements of human embryogenesis and germline editing; US and international policies on hER; and social and ethical considerations, including the pursuit of fundamental knowledge, questions related to moral status, stakeholder perspectives, and a framework model that integrates scientific, political and ethical perspectives for policy development. The goal of this format is to make sure the audience has a full understanding of all of the ethical, legal, and social implications of the work from multiple perspectives to facilitate robust audience discussion on the topic.
