While the increasing severity of extreme weather phenomena is becoming a constant in every part of the planet, consequences could be dramatic specifically in urban areas. Urban areas are those parts of the planet which could pay the greater social impact due to the global warming. For this reason, there is an urgent need for specific focus on adjustment strategies. Therefore, many European and US cities have defined new planning and intervention tools, which focus on the readjustment to climate change.
