About
European Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) as a field of research and practice faces major challenges and opportunities as a new decade dawns. A number of projects and initiatives are converging on the need for a global network that marshals the shared experience from European Commission-funded projects and other important initiatives internationally. This session discusses how developing a network for RRI will make the most of existing know-how, results and impacts, while ensuring that a sustainable vision for RRI is global in its outlook and engagement. The added value of the global RRI network can be expected to reach beyond research and innovation performing communities, as the dialogue with policymakers, the engagement with and involvement of the public is supposed to become a design feature in future funding schemes. The aim of this session will be to take stock of collective insights of projects and initiatives that are greater than the sum of the parts. The discussions will include specifics about how to make a global RRI network useful, sustainable and effective.
