Location: ES Virtual Room
This session deals with the personal experiences of early-stage researchers and their suggestions to improve research culture. The session was co-created with the participation of the early-stage researchers, who were awarded ESOF travel grants by Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), Wilhelm und Else Heraeus Stiftung, Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet), Centre for Dialogue at Campus Riedberg, Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) and the University of Zürich. The reflections of the early-career researchers on making an academic career include consideration of work-life balance, international mobility and insecurities surrounding obtaining research funding and finding a permanent position. The researchers will give feedback on how the COVID-19 crisis has affected their research. The session will also deal with aspects of research policy including Open Science, Science Communication and the balance between teaching and research in universities.
