Jens Degett is a biologist by training and has worked with science journalism and communication since 1990. He is the Editor in Chief of, a platform for science media communication. Since 2016, he is the President of the European Union of Science Journalists Associations (EUSJA) and was the Chairman of the Danish Science Journalist Association from 2012-2020.

From 2000-2005, he was the Head of Communications at the European Science Foundation (ESF) in Strasbourg and later the Director of the European Action on Global Life Science (EAGLES), two EU projects on health and food research in developing countries while based in Madrid, Spain. He is well known for being the host of the science radio program Studie 2000, then the most listened to radio programme of the National Danish Broadcast (DR).
