Leonie-Helen Bogl received her PhD degree from the Faculty of Medicine in Helsinki, Finland in 2014. Her thesis examined the associations of dietary factors, obesity and serum lipoprotein profile among young adult twins. Her research interests include nutritional epidemiology, gene-diet interaction and using family studies to tease apart the influence of genes and the environment in explaining individual differences. Currently, she uses data from the multi-centre I.Family study to answer research questions on the familial resemblance of obesity, metabolic health and dietary intake. During her postdoc in Finland, she was a guest researcher at the University of Ottawa, Canada and University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
