A lively Exhibition will accompany the 10th edition of the EuroScience Open Forum ESOF2022 scientific programme onsite in the spectacular 900 years-old Pieterskerk in Leiden. Online delegates will have full access to all sponsor booths and the e-poster gallery in the virtual conference platform.
The Exhibition will be the place where all delegates can gather for informal meetings over coffee, attend networking events, browse the latest scientific discoveries for businesses and research institutions, discuss research and career opportunities with representatives from leading European universities and much, much more.
Exhibition Highlights
Not only will there be booths from our key partners Elsevier and Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, but there will also be plenty of other amazing booths with activities to explore.
The EU Pavilion
The EU Pavilion will include a wide range of activities, including TED-style talks, virtual reality experiences, live sketching with young artists, and virtual escape games on sustainability and space, and the first ever European Talent Fair on Saturday, July 16, which will be open and accessible to everyone. The EU Talent Fair will bring together students, early career researchers, scholars, start-ups, industry and investors to increase young people’s job opportunities in the research sectors and training sessions. There will also be a virtual EU booth for online delegates to discuss research and innovation policy, EU Missions, opportunities for research and more. In this digital space, you can also find the latest factsheets, reports, and videos on a wide range of EU research and innovation topics.
Please note that delegates must register by Wednesday, July 13 for the four training sessions that the EU Pavilion will host onsite and online. Go here to view the agenda of the European Talent Fair and to register.
Research in Germany
Representatives of the Research in Germany booth will be on hand to answer questions about funding and career opportunities available in Germany, in addition to hosting a live networking event with five different German universities on Friday, July 15 at 16:30 – 17:30 CEST.
Research in Estonia
You can taste coffee made from a hydrogen-powered coffee machine and eat cookies made by valorising food at the Research in Estonia booth. Several universities representatives and students will be available at the booth to talk about their innovative research and show delegates their findings.
Demonstration of the James Webb Space Telescope
Or you can get up close and personal to a model of the James Webb Space Telescope during a demonstration. Using the beautiful 1:10 scale model of the telescope, Prof. Dr Bernhard Brandl (Leiden University and TU Delft) will explain how the telescope unfolded in space and how it will help fellow astronomers unravel the secrets of both the near and distant future.
