Formal and legal side of organizing doctoral schools
Legal regulations related to the functioning of doctoral schools in Poland are open to doubt. A lot of matters are non-regulated in proper legal acts, and some of them are over-regulated. Evaluation of academic institutions that has just been completed also provokes questions. The subject of the panel discussion in Katowice will be, firstly, the consequences of the scientific evaluation of disciplines and the upcoming evaluation of doctoral schools; secondly, the principles of education at doctoral schools conducted jointly and in cooperation with external institutions, including foreign ones; thirdly, the regulations connected to the financing of education at doctoral schools and the scholarship system; fourthly, the education process at doctoral schools, especially the legal aspects of the suspension of doctoral students’ education, changes in individual research plans and regulations related to the termination of the education.
