The next European City of Science, Katowice Poland, will participate as a Regional Site during the scientific programme of ESOF2022 in Leiden, the Netherlands. Regional Site Katowice will hold a parallel conference in Poland on Friday, July 15 at the International Congress Centre, where 4 of their progamme sessions will be accessible online during ESOF2022.
A one-day hybrid, regional conference
In 2024, Katowice will be the first city in Central and Eastern Europe to hold the title of European City of Science. The full Katowice programme will include a total of 12 sessions onsite and 7 session of additional events, but four of those sessions will be accessible during ESOF2022 – exclusively via the online virtual platform.

The sessions will be hosted by the universities forming the Katowice consortium of the European City of Science 2024. Representatives from Polish and foreign science centres, experts representing business, cultural institutions, and the media have been invited to participate.
