Description

The ongoing technological and civilizational progress and the pursuit to improve the quality of human life are connected with deep changes in the broadly understood natural environment, both in its animated and non-animated parts. At the same time, the scientific and social awareness of the effects of human activities in the direction and intensity of changes occurring in the natural environment is also growing. Despite this, many problems still remain unsolved, and often even undiagnosed. Due to this, there is a constant need to create a platform for meetings of many scientific, social, economic and legislative circles in order to describe, understand and predict the tendencies for the following phenomena and issues concerning sustainable environment:

  • further understanding of the connections between the effects of human activities and the regional and global climate change, description of the phenomena and processes occurring in them, as well as innovative adaptive solutions developed in cooperation between scientific, socioeconomic and political circles,
  • analysis of the possibilities to produce food in a sustainable way, which guarantees that the needs of both present and future generations will be fulfilled, with respect to biodiversity, in particular the environments of outstanding natural value that deserve legal protection,
  • identification of the most important issues related to broadly understood problems of reasonable management of water resources, protection of the environments depending on the amount and quality of waters,
  • presentation of the most important issues connected with the production and migration of contaminants in different types of ecosystems, their immediate and long-term effects, as well as eco-solutions to improve the quality of air, water and soil,
  • promotion of the concept for shaping post-industrial areas, including solutions related to the development, reclamation and regeneration of post-industrial areas, their protection and adaptation of the currently degraded areas for new functions,
  • search for solutions in the field of innovative environmentally-friendly technologies, from getting to know their elements (automatic diagnostic stations or detection systems providing data in real time and automated computer forecasts) through implementing solutions that allow for sustainable management of natural resources on Earth.

We are interested in various perspectives, both theoretical and practical, which will contribute to the discussion on sustainable environment. Papers presenting innovative research, proposed practical solutions and case studies are welcome.
